Needy benefit from joint effort

16 Feb, 2012 10:25 AM
THREE groups have banded together to ensure a good night’s sleep for some of Naracoorte’s needy.

Anglican Community Care, Naracoorte Homemakers and the Max Life Church have given seven mattresses and a bed base to people in the homelessness program.

Max Life raised $1641.55 in December and bought the bedding at cost price from Naracoorte Homemakers’ Adrian and Brenda Mahoney.

Church member Leah Davenport said it was a pleasure to be part of the project.

“There’s a lot of poverty in Naracoorte that we don’t even see,” she said.

“It’s been a real blessing to be part of it.”

Adrian said: “We were happy to be involved in the project and we’re always willing to support worthwhile projects.

“It was a really positive outcome. We’d like to congratulate Max Life Church and ac.care.

“It would have made a difference to those families.”
