THE weather hasn't been kind to the Naracoorte and District Little Athletics Centre of recent weeks.
We have only been able to hold one full meet over the last three weeks.
With heat forcing the committee to modify one week, the long runs and hurdles being cut, and this last week being cancelled due the other extreme of pouring rain.
Vice president Leanne Shouksmith had the pleasure of presenting three more best performances to Samantha Edwards (under 6 girls 300m), Isaac Hocking and Cameron Taylor (joint holders under 6 boys 300m).
This is the first time our centre has held these events with these three athletes setting the benchmark.
The committee is thrilled with the current numbers attending little athletics, with registrations standing at 96 athletes, with others still giving it a try to see if they like it.
Regional games was held in Millicent on Sunday, with a good number of children going to perform against Mount Gambier, Millicent and Penola.
Our centre appreciates the support from all the parents and caregivers at the meets over the weeks and also wish to thank our major State and national sponsors IGA, McDonalds, State Government - office for recreation and sport, Channel 9, WIN Television Pty Ltd, Asics, Willis Insurance and AXA.
Without everybodies support little athletics wouldn't happen.
