 Millicent too strong for Rangers

Millicent too strong for Rangers

02 Feb, 2012 10:54 AM
WITH the Rangers playing a home game after a successful away game, expectations were at an all time high - not as high as the weather forecast though!

The team being a a somewhat streamlined version of the previous week but with the main ingredients still intact!

Fox started on the mound with Whitwell at catcher, hoping to produce some more magic, and did with an early close to Millicent Bandits first at bat.

Young Brodi started off the batting with good wood, as did the following three batters, but were unable to produce anything on the score board.

Millicent’s second dig brought out the old jitters from games past with safe hits, leaving nothing for the home team to counter.

Rangers followed with a string of safe hits themeselves to bring the score a bit closer, but failed to capitalize on RBI’s.

The next couple of the digs were unchanged for both teams with Millicent stretching their lead.

Craig Pearce trading his old right field position to second base, proved his worth with good sound baseball knowledge when plays went his way.

A change of pitcher to Brodi Pearce and catcher to Brody Harper tried to stabilise the game, but Millicent proved their skill and found gaps, even with great efforts from Justin and Joel in the outfield complemented well by Ashley Cross and Darren Henschke in the infield.

Rangers went down by several runs but with heads held high, knowing that they competed well and most importantly enjoyed a good day, and their baseball.

The Rangers play in the Mount next week at 4pm on diamond two.

Viva Le Rangers!
