THE hoodoo continues for Mount Gambier trainer Lee Creek at the Coonawarra Vignerons Cup.
Club Royale was widely tipped to go one up on its 2012 second place in the big race but gave the field a decent head start and couldn't recover in time.
Instead Creek had to settle for third as Jamie Opperman went the double with Season of Fortune over Innocent Mug.
Season of Fortune co-owner Don Pegler gave a massive rap for the jockey and trainer.
"All I can say is Jamie Kah just rode that horse to perfection and Jamie Opperman prepared it exceptionally well," he said.
Pegler could barely contain his own excitement over the gelding's win. "I'm over the moon, man, over the moon."
Coonawarra Vignerons Association president Sue Hodder congratulated all involved with the winner.
"We wish them many happy hours of celebration," she said.
Naracoorte trainer Sue Jaensch enjoyed a good day out with wins in race four (Delta Rho Sam) and eight (Jesta Tiger) and a second and third in race six (Vicson and Supa Cool Dude).
Fellow local trainer Sue Murphy's day was a little quieter with her only placing a second in race five with Life's a Butterfly.
