LOCAL junior basketballers have done the town proud at recent State competitions.
Nic Lacey, Nick Songvilay, Lachie Atkinson, Luke Black and Hamish Loechel played in the Albury Country Cup from January 12-20.
Lacey was in the SA Country u14 Sharks team, Songvilay and Atkinson were in the u14 Magpies team, Black was in the u16 Magpies team and Loechel was in the u18 Magpies team.
Lacey was selected to travel to New Zealand as part of an u14 team selected from the best players from Tasmania, New South Wales, Victoria and SA in April this year.
Matt Black played in the SA Country u13 side at the Eltham-Dandenong junior tournament in the u14 division one competition over the long weekend in January.
Lacey, Songvilay, Atkinson and Matt Black represented their State for the first time while it was Loechel's second time and Luke Black's third.
