IT was back to winter for hockey last weekend!
Players should note the change of times for the finals games starting this weekend.
- All under 13s games will be played at 10.45am and under 16 games at noon.
- The men's and women's games will be 1.30pm and 3pm.
The last session of Hooked In2 Hockey was held on Saturday.
The cooler weather kept a lot away.
Thanks to Samantha Edwards who helped out in playing the game.
It was the two boys onto the three girls and the boys won 2-0.
Thank you to all parents who helped out and to the club helpers too.
A lot of the players even were able to play in the under 13 competition during the season which has improved their skills.
Participation for the year were: Oliver Duffy, Maddie and Tilly Derrington, Lachlan Maffescioni, William and Jack Wachtel, Henry Boord, Hannah and Lucy Yates, Zoe James, Annie Williams, Jen Ellis, Brooke Edwards, Sophie and Alexander Waters, Joel Anderson, Callum and Archie Carruthers-Murray.
Hope you see you all continue with your hockey next year.
Redlegs def K/L Rangers 2-0.
Goals: Reds Dylan Montgomery, Lauren Montgomery. Best: Reds Matthew Bunnik, Lauren Montgomery, Samantha Edwards; Rangers team effort.
A well played game of high spirits, Reds were down to nine players so had to play well to hold out a determined K/L Rangers team.
A series of runs by Rangers were held up by Matt Bunnik, giving the Reds forwards an opportunity to play a possession game and put the "Montgomery Duo" in position to score. K/L Rangers came very close to scoring their first goal for the season - their supporters (mums and dads) got very excited from the sidelines.
Greenbottles def Darts 4-3.
Goals: Fletcher Tully, Darcy Tully, Daniel Ker, Liam Arnold; Darts Lachy Garrigan 2, Tyler Thomson. Best: Daniel Ker, Liam Arnold, Byron Haese; Darts Lachy Garrigan, Lucy Sharman, Tyler Thomson.
With the good weather gone again you could tell it is a winter sport. Both teams came out hard with Darts having two fast breaks and scoring. Greens didn't give up and also scored a goal with good teamwork and Darts replied with a goal soon after, making the score 3-1 Darts' way. After half time Greens found their feet and began playing as a team, taking control of the game and scoring three goals to finish the game in front.
K/L Rangers def Redlegs 3-2.
Goals: K/L Rangers Tyler Whitehead 2; Reds Lachie Brewer 2. Best: K/L Rangers Zak Farrell, Tyler Whitehead, Morgan Farrell; Reds (not submitted).
A clean start to the game, Rangers with the first goal and Reds evening the score shortly afterwards.
Another goal was scored for both teams, however the wind (and torrential rain) was in Rangers' favour and after an extremely competitive game, they won by a goal. Fantastic!
Greenbottles def Darts 4-0.
Goals: GB Levi Motteram 3, Sammii Wayland. Best: GB (not submitted); Darts Lachy Garrigan, Jess Thomson, Annie Charlton.
A cold day still produced some great hockey. Greens came out fast and strong with many early runs creating goals.
Darts woke up and worked hard to even the game with a few runs into the forward line. A steady and well fought game to the end, a good way to end the season for the young Dartmoor team, well done to all.
Redlegs def K/L Rangers 12-0.
Goals: Reds Annie Busiko 6, Jackie Sunderland 4, Kathryn Montgomery, Sam Bunnik. Best: Reds Annie Busiko, Jackie Sunderland, Maggie Schibler; K/L Rangers: Wendy Hill, Megan Watson, Elena Bieling
A very cold and wet day but players were lucky to escape the heavy rain. Muddy and slippery conditions made it very challenging for both sides, but excellent team play and passing by Redlegs helped to put in eight goals by half time.
K/L Rangers fought hard to block many Reds shots on goal and were unlucky not to score themselves. The Rangers played better in the second half.
Dartmoor def Greenbottles 2-0.
Goals: Darts Bec Cock 2. Best: Darts Annie Charlton, Gayle Ellis, Rebecca Cock; GB Celia Scott, Danni Pedroja, Sam Wayland.
Darts came out strong, getting two goals early in the first half. GB kept their heads and managed to create a couple of good runs down the line.
Neither team scored in the second half, in a clean, hard-fought game by all.
Redlegs def K/L Rangers 2-0.
Goals: Reds James Gale, Andrew Doecke. Best: Reds Andrew Doecke, Cody Greenwood (goalie), Daniel Kitto; K/L Rangers Tyler Whitehead, Richie Kirkland, Bruce Cameron.
Redlegs and K/L Rangers had a very evenly matched game on field two with great teamwork and plenty of scoring opportunities from both sides.
Both defences were strong, keeping the score 1-0 at half time.
In the second half, the rain came down hard and most people were struggling to stay on their feet. Redlegs managed to put one more goal in from a short corner to seal the win.
Greenbottles def Darts 4-1.
Goals: GB Michael Williams 2, Scott Murray, Gavin Boord, Warren Cattermole, Grant Yates; Darts Ian Dow. Best: GB Hugh Teate, Warren Cattermole, Grant Yates; Darts Zac Cattermole, Craig Fabris, Mick Derrington.
A very fast and furious paced game with many good battles all over the field. With the weather holding off it made for steady momentum. Greens ran out the game with a comfortable win.
