WITH the course looking amazing Lucindale hosted its annual "Great Yakka Challenge" where players played in teams over two days last week.
First day was the Barrett Distributors SE ladies ambrose competition, followed by the Kincraig Motors Holden Scramble. The teams who had played in both days were in the running for the overall winners of the "Great Yakka Challenge".
Barrett Distributors Mobil have been long time sponsors of the SE Ladies Ambrose and 26 teams were competing in this year's event.
The winning team to win the 2013 SE Ladies Ambrose with a fine gross 70 was a Lucindale team consisting of Sharon Menz, Leanne Graetz, Izzy Carracher and Michelle Justin.
This competition sees the best ladies golfers in the SE combining in teams and the Lucindale girls have been bridesmaids for quite a while, well it's your turn girls, congratulations.
Runner-up with a gross 72 representing Naracoorte were Jane Allen, Jill Williams, Di McCully and Helen Cox.
Net winning team with a fine net 61 1/8 representing Millicent was Liz Saint, Janet Watson, Pam Packer and Sue Ireland.
Runner-up net winner from Beachport with net 63 7/8 was Wendy Atkinson, Robyn Walters, Julie Howe and Pat Egan.

Best dressed/turned-out team was won by Millicent girls consisting of Virginia Dedonatis, Michele Smith, Julie McKenzie and Helen Chilton.
The Ladies SE Holden Scramble is a net event and was sponsored by Kincraig Motors at Naracoorte where the winning team will now go on to represent the SE at the regional final in Melbourne.
The winning team with a fine net 61 was team Lucindale consisting of Petrina Smith, Julie Wilks, Carly Graetz and Jacki Baker. Well done girls, all the best in Melbourne.
Runner-up with a net 62.5 was the ever consistent team from Naracoorte: Jill Williams, Helen Cox, Di McCully and Jane Allen.
Second runner-up with a net 62 5/8 representing Heywood was Debbie McLeod, Jenny Foster, Karen Mizzi and Sue Storer.
Long-drive 0-29, Virginia Dedonatis and 30-45 was Carly Graetz.
Nearest-the-pin Kay Rasheed on the third and Jacki Baker on the 16th.

Runners-up on count back with a combined net 127, sponsored by Koonara Wines and Henri Post Jewellers were Lucindale team Jacki Baker, Petrina Smith, Carly Graetz and Julie Wilks
Second runners-up from Naracoorte with net 127 sponsored by Loaves and Fishes and Coastal Treasures were Jill Williams, Di McCully, Jane Allen and Helen Cox.
Running an event means many hands making lighter work and again the members and volunteers always step up to help make the committee's job so much easier.
With the course at its best many accolades for our green keeper Don and his apprentice Adrian also the kitchen hands and community members popping in to help run the kitchen.
