FRANCES Play Centre children, primary school students, parents and teachers held a surprise lunch on September 11 to show their appreciation to Keryn Smith for her work as the play centre coordinator.
She has spent six-and-a-half years showing endless enthusiasm and dedication to the job she does at the centre.
The play centre children presented Keryn with a beautifully made quilt, with each square decorated by an individual, and a lemon tree which will be planted next to the play centre.
The primary students presented her with a colourful signed banner and sang the school song.
Parent Sarah Joubert spoke at the lunch and paid tribute to Keryn, who dedicates many unpaid hours each week to her job.
"I'm sure all of us mums have taken home and applied at least one piece of Keryn's valuable parenting experience, whether it's to help a tantrum throwing toddler or teen," Sarah said.
"We owe her enormously for our weekly dose of sanity and time out and the play centre children are just as spoilt with her wonderful ideas for creative play and learning which fuel their little imaginations and mean they never want to leave.
"Frances Play Centre and Primary School are so incredibly fortunate to have her as play centre coordinator - so thank you very much from all of us."
