WHO needs the bright lights of Hollywood when the talent is right here in the SE?
The stars of Lucindale Area School performed in the annual primary concert at Lucindale Memorial Hall last week.
The theme was Hollywood and it was very much like a night at the Oscars - with standing room only as parents, friends and relatives packed the venue to capacity.
An enjoyable night for all, there was a great mix of music, plays and general mayhem as unsuspecting members of the audience were also called up to accept a variety of awards.
The array of costumes, props and scenery certainly made it a colourful and show stopping event.
School captains Daniel Ryan, Kelly Ferguson and Micaela Boxall were the comperes and did a fantastic job at keeping the crowd entertained.
The school choir sang, the Receptions performed the popular Mary Poppins song "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", the Year 1 class did a short play called "15 Minutes of Fame" and the Year 2/3 class had a spectacular flying car in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Students in Year 4/5 class had a play called "The Movie Script" and Year 6/7 acted out the Wizard of Oz with a twist.
The evening proved both hilarious and highly entertaining with lots of talented performances from students as they were given the opportunity to shine.
