IT was a display of cars reminiscent of the 1950s with the Holden Car Club of SA in Naracoorte on Sunday.
The group was in the SE at Bordertown for the weekend and came south to Naracoorte for a day trip to the caves.
They stopped at the Naracoorte Historic Vehicle Club in the morning and then at lunch, where their classic machines were admired by local club members and other interested locals.
Naracoorte Historic Vehicle Club secretary Daphne Burford said she was quite pleased with the number of members of the public who came to see the cars on Sunday, as well as the support of the local car club members.
The hosts of the trip, Graeme and Pam Nelson, were also pleased.
"It's gone really well," Mr Nelson said of the trip.
With most members based in Adelaide, the club twice a year takes advantage of long weekends to go on holidays to different part of the State, also making forays across the border - including to Bathurst.
With the cars getting on in years, Mrs Nelson said most took careful management to get through long trips.
"We try to stop as much as a person would need a toilet break," she said.
