DRESSED in a silver peplum dress accented with "safety cone" orange accessories, Jennifer Marsh's unique style wowed at the Adelaide Cup earlier this year.
Now the Naracoorte local will compete in the national finals at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne on November 7.
If Jennifer is successful and wins the national final she will take home a Lexus sport convertible valued at over $75,000, as well as a $6000 Myer shopping spree, a $2000 timepiece and other prizes.
She will wear the same dress - which she bought online for just $18US - and bright tangerine hued accessories which brought her success at Morphettville in March.
"Realistically I am probably an outside chance but you never know," she said. "I'm just happy to have gotten this far.
"It's really hard because in Adelaide the cup is in the first half of the year.
"Tasmania and SA both have theirs around autumn and the other states get more trends coming out towards spring.
"If I win or place second or third I will be pretty chuffed. I will be ecstatic actually but am certainly not expecting to."
Jennifer works as a Country Fire Service regional prevention officer in Naracoorte and also has an online millinery business.
As the SA representative she gets nine nights complimentary accommodation in Melbourne as well as transport to and from the racecourse for each day's activities.
The main Fashions on the Field event will take place on Crown Oaks Day and will include a live cross to Channel 7's morning program "Sunrise".
"I'm quite looking forward to having a nice, relaxing time before the start of fire season," she said.
"It's a fairly full schedule. The day before is a nice luncheon where we get to dress up in a nice outfit and hat.
"I'm hoping all fits in my suitcase!"
In 2006 she was the runner-up at the Melbourne Cup competition, she came third in 2008 at the event in Sydney, got second place at the Adelaide Cup in 2011 and last year made it to the finals in Adelaide.
