Lucindale celebrates end of school year

LUCINDALE Area School celebrated a great academic year at its presentation ceremony on November 29.

Students from Reception to Year 12 were recognised for their achievements and presented with certificates, in front of an audience of staff, family and friends.

The Music Award for Choir went to Aislin McGrath while the Music Honour Award for Instrumental Music was given to Samantha Edwards.

Tiana Maxwell was crowned Lions Youth of the Year and Citizenship Awards went to Milly Walker, Shelby Ferguson and Daniel Ryan.

After a great year of athletic prowess Will Gould took home the Outstanding Sporting Achievement Award.

The Graham Qualmann Memorial Award for the Dux of Year 12 went to Kelly Ferguson who was also presented with the Caltex Best All Rounder Award.

Tilka Cohen achieved the highest Australian Tertiary Admission Rank and Brock Kelsh was the Best VET Student.

The Best Australian School Based Apprenticeship Award and Tony Pittaway Welding Challenge Award went to Tim Williams, who also took out the George Williams Memorial Award for Agricultural theory, while Taylah Dupree received it for Agricultural Practice.

Curriculum awards were also handed out in all year levels to acknowledge excellence in specific subjects.
