Schools closed due to extreme fire danger

NARACOORTE High School and eight other schools in the region - as well as the Naracoorte Caves - are closed today due to a "catastrophic" fire danger rating.

The CFS announced the rating yesterday, prompting the Department of Education and Child Development to close the high risk sites as per its extreme weather policy.

The affected schools in the Lower SE are: 

 Glenburnie Primary School 

 Beachport Primary School 

 Kalangadoo Primary School & Kindergarten

 Kangaroo Inn Area School 

 Kongorong Primary School 

 Mount Burr Primary School 

 Nangwarry Primary School 

 Naracoorte High School 

 Rendelsham Primary School 

In other parts of SA, Napperby Primary School and Wirrabara Primary School are also closed.

Schools and educational sites in the Lower SE, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Murraylands and Upper SE are advised to remain on high alert, monitor local radio stations and the CFS website.
