WANT a fun family day travelling through some of the district's most serene and beautiful tracks on a Sunday morning?
All four wheel driving enthusiasts are encouraged to come out and support the Naracoorte SA 4WD Club's upcoming charity rally on February 23, a joint initiative with the charity "Soldier On".
The day involves a relaxed drive over various track conditions and obstacles, answering questions as you go for great prizes, followed by lunch at Cockatoo Lake.
The rally starts at the showgrounds from 8am and the distance is approximately 100km, or three hours, and it is not a timed event.
Vehicles must be 4WD capable, registered and insured.
Entry is $20 per vehicle and lunch is $10 per person with kids under 12 free.
Registration forms can be picked up from Kincraig Chemmart pharmacy or by contacting Jackie Muecke on email@example.com .au, 8736 6074 or 0428 366 074.
It's preferred that completed entry forms be returned to the pharmacy.
Those pre-registering and paying before the day will go into an early bird draw, or you can register on the day at 8am sharp at the showgrounds.
The idea for the rally came from a recent meeting of the 4WD club.
New member Troy Lines, also linked with Soldier On, recently put the spotlight on the plight of returning troops in a story in the Herald.
Club president Peter Flavel said it was a "unanimous decision" by club members to support "Soldier On" - with a donation to be made at the end of the rally.
