Locks gone for charity | PHOTOS

NARACOORTE man Wade Northcott's signature long locks are gone.

Wade has been raising money in support of his brother-in-law Tim Solly, who is running

from Melbourne’s Federation Square to Hopetoun in Victoria’s Mallee Region, and one of Tim's friends Matt Sofoulis to raise funds for research into Motor Neurone Disease.

His hair was cut today to coincide with the kicking off of the run.

A small crowd gathered at Betta Home Living to witness the event, including wife Angela and their baby son Louis - who thankfully recognised his dad even without the hair.

Donations for the run have crossed the halfway mark, with $50,000 their final goal.

The total funds raised by Wade's head shave will be published in the Herald.

The hair cut from Wade's head will go to the Royal Adelaide Hospital's Hairific salon where it will be made into personalised wigs for those in need.
