A CROWD of 100 people tried out the new course for Rotary's Naracoorte Caves Fun Run, Walk and Pedalfest on March 30.
Starting at the caves, participants walked, ran or pedalled out along Caves District Rd - a 10km journey - instead of doing Old Caves Rd.
Riders of the longer 32km distance also tackled a new course out Langkoop Rd.
This made things much easier for adminstrators because everyone was in the same place to register.
Participants also gave it rave reviews - saying it was much more picturesque than the Old Caves Rd and that the flatter terrain resulted in faster times. The morning started out in brilliant sunshine setting the scene for a magnificent day.
Temperatures were in the early 20s - excellent for running, walking and cycling.
Overall, Rotary was happy with how the ninth annual event went and the support it received from the community.
Organiser Peter Flavel praised his team of Rotarians and the six men from the Naracoorte and District Men's Shed who enabled the smooth running of the day.
For 2014 all funds raised went to the Naracoorte and District Men's Shed; although participants could also choose to support their own club, school or charity.
