Coonawarra After Dark celebrations

COONAWARRA hosted its annual After Dark celebrations on Friday and Saturday.

More than 70 guests dined on the main street of Penola for Koonara Wines' inaugural Harvest Lunch.

Penola Station's chef Dave Carrigan impressed guests with delicious calamari, scotch fillet and kangaroo served straight off the barbecue, while Bordertown guitarist Mark Thomas entertained the crowd with classic tunes.

Frank DiGiorgio from DiGiorgio Family Wines said attendance for the famous grape Vintage Stomp on Friday was at an all-time high.

"This is the 11th year we've had the stomp and it was our biggest, it goes to show the popularity of After Dark," he beamed.

Zema Estate held its vintage celebrations also on Friday night, and Mrs Zema's pizzas went down a treat according to Nick Zema.

Brand's Laira Coonawarra hosted Wined It Up @ Brand's Laira Friday night too.

Steven Raidis from Raidis Estate hosted Chris's Charcoal Grill, an event always popular with locals.
