HOW are your car's headlights looking?
Now that daylight saving is over and it is getting dark earlier it is a good time to check the lights on your vehicle with a free headlight safety check from the SE Rotary clubs and the Limestone Coast Road Safety Group.
Running for the sixth year in Naracoorte, the initiative has been in the SE for twice that long, originally starting in Mount Gambier.
Last year just over 400 vehicles in the region were tested (at sites in Naracoorte, Millicent, Bordertown and Mount Gambier) with in excess of 60 per cent needing some sort of maintenance.
The correct alignment and operation of headlights is a roadworthy requirement - of the 50,000 defects put on motor vehicles last year, some 11,000 were for light-related issues.
Headlight testing will be done at Naracoorte Battery Service on the corner of Smith and Rolland Sts from 5.30-8.30pm next Thursday.
