LUCINDALE'S Cr Trevor Rayner has been acknowledged for 20 years of service as an elected member.

The Naracoorte Lucindale councillor was presented with a certificate at the recent Local Government Association showcase and general meeting.

Cr Rayner was first elected to the District Council of Lucindale in 1993 and served this council until its amalgamation with the District Council of Naracoorte in 1998.

In 1998, Cr Rayner was elected to Naracoorte Lucindale Council, successfully winning one of the three ward positions for Lucindale as part of the amalgamation.

At the 2000 election Cr Rayner was elected unopposed and successfully contested the 2003, 2006 and 2010 elections.

The council said during Cr Rayner's 21 years of service he has demonstrated a commitment to serving the community of Lucindale and a passion for the operations and technical area of council such as road construction and maintenance, the works program and how council uses its plant and machinery.

Cr Rayner has been an active member of the Lucindale Lions Club and the club's well-known SE Field Days, as well as the Lucindale Karting Club.
