IT was a day of celebration for Naracoorte Ladies Probus Club as members marked 27 years with a lunch at the Kincraig Hotel on Monday.
In the absence of newly elected president Anne Bassel, vice-president Betty Drury welcomed everyone to the event, including guests from Bordertown, Casterton, Edenhope, Keith, Kingston, Millicent, Mount Gambier, Penola and the local Rotary and men's clubs.
Betty read a note from Anne wishing all guests a very happy time and apologising for not being there.
An excellent meal was served and in between courses lucky door prizes were awarded.
The interesting and humorous readings by Olive Durdin, Hazel Hack and Irene Ireland brought on a lot of laughter.
Naracoorte Lucindale Council mayor Erika Vickery entertained with her beautiful voice, singing happy songs.
The birthday cake was made and iced by Anne, the candles were lit by Hazel, fanned out by Doreen Trotman and Olive cut the cake which was then served with coffee and tea.
Members of each visiting club thanked the Naracoorte ladies for a lovely time, wishing them many more happy birthdays.
Betty thanked the hotel staff for their excellent service and delicious meal before she wished everyone a safe drive home.
Naracoorte Ladies Probus Club will have their next meeting at the Senior Citizens Clubrooms on June 23.
