THE Upper SE under 13 boys team had a great weekend at the long weekend zone carnival.
They may have not made the finals but both Cory Baxter (coach) and Clarry Martin (manager) thought the boys put in and believe they have all come away from the weekend better players/sportsmen.
Yorke Peninsula's U13 boys team started the weekend off by whipping the Upper SE boys into reality, proving from the get go that this team has what it takes to get into the grand final with a convincing 5 -0 win.
Next our boys went out to slog it out with Lower SE, losing narrowly 2 -1. Goal scored by Sam Gogel.
The boys started to gel together and brought out some stronger plays, putting their first win on the board against Seacliff 2 - 0, much to everyone's delight. Goals: Sam Gogel and Dylan Montgomery.
The last game of the day was against Burnside. The legs may have been heavy but the boys tried really hard. They had to work so hard but the elements seemed to be against them, losing 2-0 but very well played.
On the Sunday the boys came out re-charged but had a hard game against Adelaide. They were unlucky not to get a win, beaten 4 - 0.
The last game of the weekend was a great game against Riverland, with the boys really having a go!
Final score gave Riverland boys a win 4-2. Goals: Jordan Baxter and Jeffrey Stewart.
A big thank you needs to go to the families of these fine young men for giving us the opportunity to be a part of their hockey journey.
