PETER Stock will chair the SE regional group of Livestock SA.
At the inaugural group meeting on Monday night in Lucindale Mr Stock, well known for his years with Elders, was installed as chairman with Lachie Grundy vice-chair and Tom Dawkins secretary.
The group will serve to highlight the issues facing livestock producers in the SE and report to Livestock SA.
Livestock SA is a not for profit organisation which intends to represent all sheep, beef cattle and goat producers who have contributed funds through the Primary Industries Funding Scheme to the SA sheep and cattle industry funds.
At state level Livestock SA is a member of Primary Producers SA, which replaced the SA Farmer's Federation, and has representatives on the SA Sheep, Cattle and Goat Advisory Groups.

A range of issues were covered at the Monday night meeting, including drainage works in the upper SE, the SEDSOM bill, unconventional gas extraction, transaction levies, fit to load requirements and drainage crossings on roads.
