KNT netball top three pull away

WINS to Border Districts, Bordertown and Keith on Saturday have those three sides clearly ahead of the rest in KNT A grade netball.

The battle for the remaining two spots in the finals is between Naracoorte, Lucindale, Mundulla and Penola, with only two points separating this group.

The game between Bordertown and Mundulla started evenly with Bordertown taking a two-goal lead into the first break.

Bordertown put their foot down in the next two quarters playing high quality netball to get the lead out to 12 by three quarter time.

Mundulla came out fighting in the last quarter to get the margin back to within six during the quarter, but Bordertown settled late to finish the game strong and take the win by 11 goals.

Keith came out of the blocks strong and fast, playing a high standard of netball leading by 11 at quarter time.

Kingston were trying hard, but Keith were too strong having a big lead at half time.

The second half was much the same, both teams having a go, but Keith were the better team on the day and won by 37 goals.

The Border Districts girls had a good win against Kybybolite.

Good defensive pressure by Borders created turnovers and enabled more scoring opportunities. Kyby made changes at half time, but were unable to stop Borders' run.

The game between Penola and Lucindale was an even affair for the first half with great contests all over the court.

Penola stepped up in the third, piling on a few quick goals to be up by four at the last break.

Lucindale fought back in the last but Penola managed to hold on in a tight tussle to win by three goals.

A RESERVES

What great weather for netball at Bordertown and it was a very even game.

Both Bordertown and Mundulla defenders were creating turnovers but Bordertown were able to capitalise on a few more to have a small lead at three quarter time.

Bordertown came out in the last quarter to show how it should be done to finish strong with a 19-goal win.

The first quarter was closely contested between Keith and Kingston with both teams capitalising on defensive turnovers.

Towards the end of the second quarter Keith pulled away to take a comfortable lead into the half time break.

Keith made some changes during the break and quickly settled.

Kingston's goalies kept them in touch with accurate long range shooting.

Keith's defence and consistent shooting saw them run away with the victory.

The game between Border Districts and Kybybolite was well contested with both teams fighting hard throughout.

Kyby's defence was strong but Borders' passing through the centre court and accurate shooting gave them the winning edge.

Penola had a tough game against Lucindale. It was goal for goal through the first half and Lucindale had a one goal lead at half time.

Lots of defensive pressure from Lucindale made Penola work really hard throughout the attacking end.

With some changes in Penola's attack and some fantastic team play, Penola had a five-goal lead at three quarter time.

The final quarter saw Penola step up another notch and pressure all over the court to finish the game 10 goals ahead.
