NARACOORTE Poultry and Pigeon Club held its annual Champion Show on July 20.
Members and interested locals made their way to the Naracoorte Showgrounds to check out the wide variety of breeds being judged.
The overall winner was Sarah Greenslade who took out the champion bird of show with a Muscovy Drake.
She had a very successful day after also winning the champion and reserve champion waterfowl.
Adrian Sims won the reserve champion bird in show with an Australorp cock and the champion standard heavy breed soft feather (Tristen Wachmer took out second place).
Champion standard light breed soft feather was club president Michael "Jacko" Ryan and he also took out the reserve prize.
In the standard hard feather category B. K. Hebberman won champion and reserve champion, as well as taking out the bantam hard feather (reserve went to S&L Parker) and turkey categories.
Champion bantam soft feather went to Melissa McIntosh and reserve to Janet Ferguson, while Andrew Lock was recognised for having the best goose or gander.
There were a number of young people involved in the 2014 show including Mathew Wachmer who won junior champion and Hannah Stuckey who was runner-up.
