HOW does your garden grow?
That is the title of this year's production by the Penola Players, written by Geoff Bamber.
The play is an English comedy, loosely based on Fawlty Towers, according to one of the players, Paul Harmer.
All the "usual suspects" are in it - including Rob Thornett, Rodger Murphy, Kate McDonald, Kat Searcy, Lynn Oakley, the returning Jon Ey, Mandi Brown and Lesley Wimshurst.
Glenn Robertson returns to the director's chair for this production.
The setting of the play is a hotel in the English countryside, struggling financially with the bank circling.
A nearby music festival and guests booking in under assumed names sets the wheels in motion, and hilarity ensues.
Mr Harmer said the cast had been working on the production for quite some time.
"We've been working on it since March or April," he said. "So it's been a while."
The cast have been working on the props and set themselves, with the assistance of Justin McDonald.
All this guarantees a great show not to be missed.
There will be four shows put on, all at Penola's Rymill Hall with doors open at 7.30pm.
September 5 is a straight theatre showing while September 6, 12 and 13 are cabaret style performances.
Tickets are $12 for straight theatre and $15 for cabaret - available from Di's Gifts and Flowers or at the door.
