NARACOORTE'S square dance club Acey Squares had plenty of reasons to celebrate over the weekend.
It was the group's eighth birthday and local members were joined by fellow dancers from other clubs around the State to mark the occasion.
Their "gift" was a new Yak Stack speaker from the US which they were able to buy thanks to a Naracoorte Lucindale Council community chest grant.
The festivities started on Friday night when everyone gathered at the Naracoorte Primary School hall for dancing and supper.
Mayor Erika Vickery was a special guest, receiving thanks for the grant from council.
On Saturday afternoon members and guests had a square dancing workshop before enjoying another evening on the dancefloor. Live caller Darren Taylor travelled from Geelong.
He has been in the game for almost 30 years and often travels to the US to call at square dances and teach other callers.
Acey Squares has about a dozen members and meets every Friday night.
It's a great form of mild exercise with individuals, couples and families encouraged to join.
