Lucindale jumps rope for Heart Foundation

LUCINDALE Area School primary students took advantage of having an appreciative crowd at last week's school open day to show off their skipping skills.

Each year level, from Reception to Year 7, participated in the Jump Rope for Heart "jump off".

The children performed a series of routines which they had been working on in preparation for the event.

Afterwards parents and visitors were invited to join them for a skip in the quadrangle.

Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983 and is a major fundraiser for the Heart Foundation of Australia.

It is known for being one of the country's most popular physical activity and fundraising programs in schools.

Each year the event attracts more than 300,000 students in more than 1500 schools with more than 500,000 sponsors comprising of families, friends and members of local school communities.

For 2014, Lucindale Area School managed to raise over $2300.
