JUNIOR basketball was back from the holiday break last week.
MIXED JUNIORS
Yellow V White: Both teams tried very hard, Yellow team had a stronger defence side.
Red V Orange: Great game lost of turnovers, fast and skills have improved a lot.
Blue V Green: A close game with good passages of play by both teams.
UNDER 12 GIRLS
Pink V Green: All Pink players played a great game, consistent with defence and offence, but the ball just would not go in. Sophie Case played an outstanding
game. Thank you to Jo Thornley for filling in coaching.
Purple V Silver: After the holiday break both teams found it hard to find an easy flowing game both teams put in 100 per cent effort for control of the ball.
Green v Grey: Great teamwork on both sides. A. Male, T. Whaanga and C. Drew all played exceptional games.
UNDER 12 BOYS
Both teams worked hard with Navy getting the initial edge. Some great offensive work by Harry Hunter under the basket.
Green V White: A fast paced game which was keenly fought out by both teams. Red v Yellow: Slow start with red scoring the first points on the board.
B Anderson was doing a great job at shooting.
UNDER 14 GIRLS
Orange V White: Great game to watch. Both teams moving ball down court well. Great defending with both teams stealing the ball to score.Navy V Blue: Strong second quarter by blue brought them back into the game.C Bull showed great defense work.Excellent
passing by Z Griig and T Nash-Hahn.
UNDER 14 BOYS
Navy V Orange: After an even first half navy through good rebounding by N Lacey gave them the edge in last quarter to only go down by 6 points.
Green v Yellow:A fast fl owing high scofring game with green’s teamwork and height made the difference. R Madan rebounded and shot brilliantly.
UNDER 16/18 GIRLS
Red v White: An exciting game to watch. L Johnson and J Lacey were accurate with their shooting and Z Grigg filled in a did a great job for red. Blue v navy: Great teamwork by all the girls.
Navy didn’t score in the fi rst quarter despite good attempts the ball would not drop.A very fast paced great game to watch.
UNDER 16/18 BOYS
Green v White: White combined well to lead convincingly for the fi rst three quarters. With green coming back at them in the final quarter to narrow the
margin to twenty points. Blue V Red: A fast game with blue finishing off better than the red side and coming away with the win. Callum Masters filled in for Blue.
