BLUE controlled the ball well throughout their mixed junior basketball
game against White.
All players shared the ball around. Lots of shots were put up but not many went in.
Green V Navy: Good defensive pressure from both teams in the first half. All players improved remarkably.
Great sportsmanship all round.
Yellow V Red: Overall it was a very enjoyable game to watch with lots of action.
L. Walker for Yellow was great on the offensive and Taylor for Red was excellent, intercepting and ball reading.
Under 12 girls
Purple v Pink: Very evenly contested game in the first half.
Purple had some good shots go in during the third quarter to double their score and finished strongly to win by 10 points.
Grey v Red: Grey played a fast and commanding game while Red fought hard throughout the match.
L. Montgomery filled in for Red, well done.
Under 12 boys
Navy v Red: Great competitive game by both teams. F. Masters shot well as did O. Peltz.
All players put in their best efforts. H. Yelland was great in defence also.
Green v Yellow: A hard fought game played with great skills and enthusiasm.
R. Gericke played the whole court for Yellow and M. Bennett had a top game for Green in a very close, evenly contested game.
Blue V White: What an outstanding game played by both teams.
Great intercepts, shots and defense work played all round the court, well done to both teams.
Under 14 girls
Blue v Navy:
S. Maber and R. Pomery shared the ball around well for Navy.
G. Kelly was hot with her shooting. Emma and Chloe were great in defence.
Zoe, Chloe and Emma were also hot with their shooting. Zoe's long shot was a highlight of the game.
Under 14 boys
White v Orange: Quick game, great to watch.
Scores were even at half time.
Orange crept ahead in the third quarter with White coming back strong in the last quarter.
White took out the win by only two points.
Green v Navy: Very fast, great shooting on both sides.
Great, entertaining game to watch. D. and N. Albrecht filled in and played really well.
Blue v Yellow: Yellow started strongly and had the jump on Blue, who failed to take advantage of their opportunities.
Blue couldn't apply the pressure required and Yellow gained an easy win.
Blue was undermanned and certainly missed their taller players.
Under 16/18 girls
Blue V Navy: Yet another very fast, exciting game to watch from the girls in both teams.
A nice even game with all players playing exceedingly well.
Under 16/18 boys
Blue V White: The game was scrappy however White played more of a team game to take the win. Nathan Bird tried hard all game, never giving up.
Green v Yellow: Quite a fast game that had fairly even court play, however yellow capitalized on their opportunities more.
Callum McKinnnon and Brandon Rye had a great game as did Damien Ryan and James Kelson.
Please note: Noel Black's under 16/18 boys (Yellow) and Frank Maggi's under 16/18 boys (White) will not be playing in next week's round of basketball.
