THE Federal Government’s MoneySmart website has launched a smartphone app designed to help users track their spending.
The TrackMySpend app allows users to set limits on their spending and keep track of their purchases on the go.
Senator Ann McEwen said the app was simple and convenient.
“I encourage people to download the app and start taking charge of their spending,” she said.
“This app helps you set realistic spending limits and stick to them.
“You can enter your expenses by category so your money goes towards the things that are important, and you can include whether the expense is a want or a need.”
The average South Australian household spends $1044 per week, including $182 on housing, $180 on food and $37 on clothing, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics household expenditure data.
Details: The app is available for free on Apple’s app store and will soon be launched on Android.
Other money management tools are available on the MoneySmart website.
