A SEVERE weather warning for damaging winds has been issued to those living in Naracoorte and other areas of the Upper and Lower South East.
A deep low south of the Bight, moving east, is generating strong and squally northwest to west winds across the southern half of the State, which will persist for most of today.
These winds will be gale force at times, averaging 50-70 km/h, which may cause some damage. Localised damaging wind squalls in excess of 100 km/h are also likely, particularly with showers and thunderstorms.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
-Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
-Secure or put away loose items around your property.
-Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
Warnings have also been given to people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands and parts of the West Coast districts.
