Police issue warning as new drugs hit street.
TWO new drugs on the street have police concerned after they were linked with two non-fatal overdoses in the past 11 days and a death earlier this year.
The drugs, which have a street value of about $25 per tab, have a similar appearance to LSD in the way they are sold and marketed and potentially in the way they effected the user.
South Australia Police say the drugs, possibly known as 25i and 2ci, cause bizarre and irrational behaviour including paranoia, fear and confusion among users and are known to increase body temperatures causing sweats and seizures.
A SAPOL spokeswoman said the drugs originated from China and were particularly worrisome because the long and short term health effects were not known.
She said both drugs were powerful hallucinogens and people seemed more likely to overdose because they took a second dose when the effects were not felt immediately.
SAPOL Detective Inspector Derryn Phillips said if someone suspected a person was suffering from a drug overdose it was vital to get him or her help immediately.
