Latest update: A man will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court today charged over the murder of two women at Millicent.

The 53-year-old Millicent man attended the Berri Police Station on Monday morning and reported the deaths.

Just after 10am on Monday, police attended an address in Plunkett Terrace, Millicent and found the two women, aged 63 and 84, deceased in the home.

The man was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. He was refused police bail and will appear in court today.

Major Crime detectives are assisting local police with the investigation.

Police have confirmed that people involved were in a domestic relationship and this was not a random incident.

Police have received information that the murders may have occurred as early as Thursday morning, May 11.

Investigators are trying to account for the arrested man’s movements between Thursday and the time he presented at Berri Police Station on Monday morning. It is believed he may travelled through the Limestone Coast area and Riverland region, including Mildura and Broken Hill.

He was driving a white 1998 Subaru Outback, registration S564AAS (pictured).

Just after 10am on Monday, police attended at a Millicent home and found two women, aged 63 and 84, deceased inside the home.

A 53-year-old Millicent man, who went into the Berri Police Station and reported the deaths, has been arrested and is currently being interviewed by police.

He is expected to be charged with two counts of murder later today and will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Branch, Forensic investigators and local police are investigating.

The investigation is in its early stages.

It is believed the man was known to the two victims and this was not a random incident.

Just after 10am police attended at a Millicent home and found two people deceased inside the home.

A man, who went into the Berri Police Station and reported the deaths, has been arrested and is currently being interviewed by police.

Police from the Major Crime Investigation Branch, assisted by Forensic investigators, are attending at the Millicent address to assist local officers with the investigation.

The investigation is in its early stages.

Information at this time suggests the man was known to the two victims.
