Seven of Naracoorte Squash Club’s local players travelled to Hamilton on May 6-7 to compete in the bi-annual Western Districts squash competition.

Harry Attwood, Jack Johnson and Justin Reuter played in division one.

Jack started the weekend with a big upset, beating Harry in three to take him to the championship round of division one.

Jack found the next three matches pretty tough, even though he had big chances to win games.

Justin had a great weekend winning two out of his four games, losing to Steve Gray of Millicent who was the plate winner.

Mel Dickenson was the runner-up in division three, winning three out of her four matches.

New to Western Districts was local young gun Aryan Madan. Aryan played a massive first match going to five, unfortunately losing 17-16 in the fifth.

Aryan went on to win his next three games taking home the division four plate prize.

Paula competed in division five winning one of her three games against Portland’s Alan Paterson.

Rae Bromley had a tough weekend in division six, unfortunately losing all of her games.

A great weekend was had by all who attended and we will be looking forward to heading over to Portland later in the year.
