George the Farmer has just announced the venues for six free performances.

George the Farmer co-creator Simone Kain said the competition to give away the free performances was hotly contested and drew a “fantastic response”.

The winning entries were received from:

Millicent Show

Penola Show

Mil Lel Show

Robe Kindergarten/Robe Primary/Robe CCOWS (combined entry)

Naracoorte Christmas Pageant

Gordon Education Centre, Mount Gambier

“We’ll be running another competition late this year for events in 2018 and encourage anyone who was unsuccessful to try again,” Simone said.

Simone and co-creator Ben Hood and George had been busy in recent weeks.

“I spoke at the Heart of Victoria Gala dinner at the MCG in the members room to 450 people. After my presentation I invited Ben and George up to the stage (via a coo-ee!) and we then performed our POTATO song which went down really well.

“We were quite worried doing a performance to a room full of adults but there must have been lots of kids at heart as they all got into it!

“On Saturday we performed at the MCG for the AFL Country Festival which was a great experience.

“Afterwards, George went out on to the MCG with Skeeter the Essendon mascot pre-game for photo opportunities with the crowd. They were all asking for photos with ‘the farmer’!”
