Entries are now open for all those home brewers looking to see how their ale measures up at this year’s Robe Home Brew and Craft Beer Festival.
Planning for the 2017 event which is set to be held on the October 28-29 weekend is already underway.
Event organiser Peta Baverstock is hoping to exceed last year’s participation numbers in the home brew category.
"We'd love to succeed last year's record of 75 home brew entries and hit the 100 mark,” she said.
“So if you've never tried brewing give it a go and you may just win one of the many categories.”
The committee have already secured a few favourite brewers from last yea and will implement new ideas to change up the festival this year.
“This year's exciting program will see more food and beverage options, music all day, beer oriented demonstrations and a ticketed long beer lunch matched to local beers,” Mrs Baverstock said.
Blake Bowyer has joined the team to create the trophies for the ‘Perpetual Trophy for Best Beer of Show’ (highest pointed beer) and the ‘Roger Evans Memorial Trophy for Best Local Beer’.
The talented Kangaroo Inn Area School Year 5 student said: “I was surprised to be asked, but excited” as he prepares to return to the event.
Last year, Blake showcased his artwork at the festival, creating masterpieces out of metal.
The festival is expected to be supported by business in the area to create an enjoyable atmosphere for all goers.
“Local businesses will help create a beer lovers weekend starting on the Friday night right through until late in the afternoon on the Sunday,” Mrs Baverstock said.
“So the last weekend in October, work up a thirst and we'll see you in Robe.”
Entries can be found on the festival’s Facebook page or at the official Robe website – www.robe.com.au.
