The Naracoorte Royal Flying Doctor Service Support Group held their annual general meeting on Tuesday night.
Support group president Noel Allchurch welcomed new volunteer coordinator Mary Wellington from central section Adelaide and attending members.
In Mr Allchurch’s report, he congratulated all members and office bearers for a very successful year of fundraising and fellowship.
Although the contribution was a little down on last year’s effort, a huge amount of $58,000 was presented to Mrs Wellington.
Mr Allchurch said: “It is 23 years since the first general meeting was held in Naracoorte and fellow member Roger Bennett and I have served all that time.
“During that period I have served six years as president, five Years as vice-president and six years as secretary of the group and I am satisfied with that.
“I have reached my ‘used by date’ and I am not seeking re-election but Coralie and I will continue to be dedicated members.
“It is very pleasing that vice-president Mark Wellington is happy to take over the reins.”
Mrs Wellington took the chair for the election of office bearers and in her address she spoke about her visits to other support groups and general news from central section including the delivery of a brand new Pilatus PC 12 aircraft.
The office bearers were elected as follows:
- President: Mark Wellington.
- Vice President: Alan Alcock.
- Secretary: Jenni Brammer.
- Assistant: Christine Murphy.
- Treasurer: Anne Sykes.
- Assistant: Jill Leitch.
- Catering supervisor: Bev Taylor.
- Publicity Officer - Coralie Allchurch.
The Naracoorte and district community have known of the wonderful service provided by the RFDS in our area, and help is needed for the vital medical retrieval to continue.
