The Lions “Taste” committee is delighted to advise that all the usual partner events for the Taste the Limestone Coast Festival will be a part of the 2018 Taste Festival event on February 8-11, 2018.

The event will start on the Thursday with a quiz and travel event hosted by helloworld Travel, Naracoorte, which was a sellout this year. On Friday, the Naracoorte Golf Club will hold its ambrose golf tournament, which has become an established and popular part of the annual program.

That evening, the Naracoorte North Kindergarten will host its open air movie night at the showgrounds. This family event has grown in popularity and is a great way for families to become involved in the festival.

On Saturday, the main streets will come alive once again with the Naracoorte Lucindale Business and Tourism Association’s “Sidewalk Sale”, giving locals and visitors a chance to grab a few bargains before the Food, Wine and Music Festival commences in the main town squares.

Indications are that most favourite wineries and food providers will be back again, with a few new “tastes” to be on offer as well! The committee is lining up a range of great entertainment for the event and is hoping to also present a surprise local cover group act.

Details of the program will be released progressively nearer to the festival, including a travel “Taste Raffle” which will be a prize worth winning!

Sunday will start early with a Producers and Makers Market in the town squares, with plenty of goods on offer and even an early breakfast or coffee for the market goers.

Then the focus of activities moves out to the racecourse for the Naracoorte Cup meeting, the highlight of the local racing calendar. The festival atmosphere continues out at the racecourse with a great race program and plenty of Taste providers also in attendance.

The Lions “Taste” Committee believe there is still more room for the community to become involved by adding further events to the program. Local service clubs, social groups and sporting clubs are asked to consider planning an event and to contact the Lions with ideas.

What about a “Blue Light” style disco for teenagers on the Friday night; a multi-cultural lunch or dinner; or another linked event? The range of possibilities is endless!

The “Taste the Limestone Coast Festival” is about celebrating the lifestyle in our region, having fun and bringing in tourists to join us and celebrate with us. Who knows, the “Taste weekend” could turn into a week of festivities for the whole family!
