The Naracoorte Jets Rugby League Club hosted the first round of fixtures of the 2017 season.

The day started with an opening ceremony to introduce the four teams to the field who will make up this year’s Limestone Coast Rugby League competition.

It was also a chance thank everyone for coming along to support the teams with a huge crowd turning out to the Naracoorte Soccer Club grounds on Saturday.

Dallas Hill finished the ceremony with an outstanding performance on his didgeridoo to acknowledge the land the teams play on.

Warnambool Raiders and Blue Lake Knights kicked off the action and were first to play. The Raiders claimed all the points after a big 30-10 win.

The Naracoorte Jets took on the Horsham Panthers in the late game, with the jets  dominant from start to finish.

Some hard-hitting tackles, quick play and excellent team work were on show from both sides.

The home support helped the Jets edge their opponents at key moments in the game and eventually made it count on the scoreboard.

Naracoorte running out convincing winners by 20 points and securing maximum points after the 30-10 victory.

The Jets are off to Horsham on October 14 to play the Blue Lake Knights. All four teams played two fantastic games of rugby league which is a good indicator for the season to come.
