Naracoorte draw with drifters

NARACOORTE'S division one hockey men drew with Drifters 2-2 on the weekend.

In a game that was full of aerial dynamics, high pace and impressive skills it was Drifters who took an early lead.

The Rams were left a little flat footed early in the game and the result was by half time Drifters seemed to have a commanding two goal lead.

However in the second half the Rams lifted, showing some of their 2013 premiership form to peg back the game.

The speed of Derek in the forward line was countered by the control shown by defenders clearing deep in the field.

With 10 minutes to go Rams were showing plenty of determination and gained one goal, but were struggling to hold out Drifters who peppered the goals.

It seemed as though Rams were going to have to change their game plan in order to avoid defeat,

With 6.5 minutes to go the Rams attackers broke through again to even the scoreboard.

Both teams contested hard but were unable to convert in the final minutes of the game, leaving two teams with plenty to ponder and much to be impressed about - a week of reflection will no doubt assist Rams to step up and take a win in two weeks.
