Police crack down on drug driving

FIVE people, including a 25-year-old woman from Naracoorte, have been detected for drug drivingby Limestone Coast Highway Patrol.

Police will allege that all five drivers returned positive to Methamphetamine.

The samples have been taken to be further forensically tested.

The drivers were directed not to drive for 24 hours and will be spoken once the the tests come back.

Officer in charge Sergeant Rex Heins said he was "alarmed at the number of irresponsible drug drivers caught especially in such a small period of time".

"It is very frustrating for police that drivers are willing to take all the risks associated with driving under the influence of drugs," he said.

"They are putting every road user at risk."

The other drivers were a 30-year-old woman from Mount Gambier and three men aged 27, 30 and 37.
