Naracoorte OTR development ‘on schedule’

Naracoorte's OTR convenience store is on schedule to open later this year.

The company responded to rumours that construction had been delayed, possibly by a planning error, by saying all was progressing well.

OTR business development manager Philip Moir said: "I am happy to confirm that there are no delays and the OTR Naracoorte re-development is progressing on schedule.

“We are looking forward to opening this store in late October/November."

The store is being built on the corner of Deviation Rd and Smith St.

May 2017:

The food franchise for the new OTR in Naracoorte has been announced.

The franchise chosen to operate from the new OTR when it opens later this year on the corner of Deviation Rd and Smith St is Subway.

Naracoorte’s existing Subway will relocate to the convenience store and petrol station from its prominent shopfront in the main street.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Peregrine Corporation said the new OTR featuring Subway was an exciting development.

“(It) will offer the ultimate in convenience retailing to make life easier for the Naracoorte community with all services open 24/7 including locally roasted, barista made coffee, a carefully curated range of supermarket essentials, OTR’s Eat range, Moe’s Hotdogs and Shakes, car wash facilities and fuel.”

When the store opens, locals will be able to download and use the OTR App which allows people to pre-order their coffee and snacks, jump the queue and earn “Buy 4 Get 1 Free” value rewards across coffee and food brands. When people download the OTR App the first coffee is free.

The spokesperson added: “This exciting development in Naracoorte has created approximately 50 new jobs during the construction phase and around an additional 30 new retail roles that will be filled from the local surrounding community of Naracoorte.”

1. OTR started with one store in 1984 and has now grown to 135 metropolitan and regional stores across South Australia, employing over 2800 people.

2. Peregrine Corporation, owner of OTR convenience stores, won the 2016 Australian Retail Awards Retail Employer of the Year.
