SANFL Community Football has announced that Michael Mourbey has been appointed to the new position of Football Operations Coordinator – South East.
Mourbey, who is currently the president of the KNTFL, will be primarily responsible for the administration of the three South East Leagues – Western Border, Mid-South East and Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara.
He replaces Tony McNamara, who resigned this month for family reasons after only a short stint in the role.
Community Football’s Matt Duldig said Mourbey has had a long involvement with South East Football having played in all three South East Leagues, as well as holding the position of president of the Penola Football Club.
Most recently, he held the position of president of the KNTFL where he steered the league successfully through several challenges. He also comes with experience from Bendigo Bank where he was the Business Banking Manager in the South East.
“The extensive leadership and management experience that Michael brings from his professional background, as well as his extensive knowledge of South East Football, will ensure the leagues’ and all clubs’ benefit from his appointment.
“We look forward to welcoming Michael to SANFL Community Football and to the new role of Football Operations Coordinator – South East.”
