Naracoorte 60/2 lost to Mount Gambier RSL Red 68/14
Graham East and his team and a fantastic win, coming from 10 shots down with 6 ends to play to get up by six shots, with Graham putting on a clinic on fantastic bowling.
Ian Williams’ team were also down by 10 shots late in the game, to draw level with 2 ends to play, but unfortunately lost the last two ends.
Ronnie Garton’s team tried hard all game, but couldn’t bridge the gap going down by 12.
Mount Gambier RSL Red 102/16 defeated Naracoorte 59/0
David Bennett and his team won over half the ends, but unfortunately gave away a few large multiples, and went down by 10 shots.
Rob Crowe’s team had a very slow start, being nine down after 6 ends, they clawed their way back, but didn’t quite get there losing by five shots
Terry Mahney’s team struggled to get on the board early, and after afternoon tea they were able to keep up with the opposition, but the deficit was too great.
Naracoorte 86/14 defeated Port MacDonnell 64/2
Gordon Williams’ team had a hard fought win, being up most of the game managing to hold on at the end.
Laurie Munn’s team were competitive all game, going down by a small margin in the end.
Mary Kirkland and her team get the “team of the week” award, after a lightning start they continued to build on their lead, in the end winning convincingly by over 20 shots.
With one out of three Naracoorte teams winning, and division one losing to last year’s premiers by only eight shots it was a successful first round of pennants.
