The Benny J Brotherhood, a group of men from the Naracoorte district participating in Movember, have raised $4437 for the men’s health initiative.
The group named themselves in honour of their late friend Ben Jolley, a young local man who died earlier this year.
The group surpassed their original goal ($3000). As well as fundraising via the Movember site, the group also placed collection tins in local businesses, such as Repco and Wickham Flower.
While they did plan to have a barbecue and cricket match to celebrate the end of Movember, the group instead decided to have a get together with partners and friends at the Bushman’s Arms on Sunday evening.
