The Naracoorte OTR has a new targeted opening date.
The new convenience store/service station on the corner of Smith St and Deviation Rd was to be open by Christmas Eve, but heavy rain in recent weeks has caused delays.
The store will comprise Hungry Jack’s and Subway outlets, coffee, supermarket essentials, OTR’s Eat range, Moe’s Hotdogs and Shakes, automatic car wash facilities and fuel.
OTR business development manager Philip Moir said of the store: “It’s coming along well, but we’re not going to get it up in time for Christmas.
“There was a pretty heavy period of rain there which has slowed down the construction process, but it will certainly be open before Australia Day (January 26, 2018).
“(The delay is) nothing to worry about, it’s all coming along well.”
Mr Moir said the Peregine Corporation had heard nothing but positives from local people after the recent announcement that the store would feature Hungry Jack’s as well as Subway,
“We’ve had a lot of good feedback from people looking forward to Hungry Jack’s coming to town,” he said.
“We’re excited and looking forward to getting the store finished and open.”
