A Naracoorte house has burned down in shocking conditions.

With the temperature hovering above 40 degrees and in high winds, a house on Harding Court caught alight on Saturday afternoon and burned virtually to the ground in a matter of minutes.

The fire was first reported about 1pm Saturday and emergency services were on the scene within minutes.

A large crowd gathered to watch from a safe distance as fire fighters battled to contain the high flames.

Emergency services remained at the scene until later in the day to ensure the incident was controlled and neighbouring properties weren’t damaged.

There were no apparent injuries and the occupants of the house were not physically harmed.
