UPDATE: Fatal crash near Naracoorte

UPDATE: A truck driver has died in a single vehicle crash at The Gap, north of Naracoorte.

Just after 12.30pm on Monday April 16, police were called to the Naracoorte Road, about 1km north of the Riddoch Highway, after reports a truck had crashed into a tree.

The truck driver, a 61-year-old Sheidow Park man, died at the scene.

Major Crash investigators attended and examined the scene.

The man's death takes the State's road toll to 23 so far this year, compared to 19 at the same time last year.

The accident followed another fatality in the same area near the Gap on Saturday morning.

Original story 1pm Monday: Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious crash at The Gap north of Naracoorte.

The Naracoorte Road is closed between the Riddoch Highway and Gap Road and diversions are in place.

Major Crash are attending the scene.

It is the second accident in the same area in three days, after a 37-year-old woman from Crafers died in a single vehicle accident on Saturday.
