A Western Australian man was detected travelling at 65km/h over the speed limit on the Dukes Highway on Friday.
About 10.20am on Friday, June 8, police received a number of reports from the public regarding a Ford sedan travelling at high speed east from Keith towards Bordertown.
Police conducting mobile radar duties along the Dukes Highway spotted a Ford sedan matching the description given by witnesses near Bordertown.
The driver was stopped after the car was detected travelling at 175km/h in a 110km/h speed zone.
A 20-year-old man was issued with an on-the-spot fine for excessive speed, travelling in the right hand lane of an overtaking lane when not permitted and failing to produce his interstate licence.
The man was also issued with a six month instant loss of licence.
