The Jones family will be hosting a charity auction to raise money for the NFP organisation “Fight MND” at Naracoorte Football Club this Saturday, July 14.
The decision to raise money for Fight MND is a personal one, as a family member, David Jones, has been battling motor neuron disease.
Naracoorte footballer Sam Willson has added to the fundraising appeal of the night by promising to have his dreadlocks cut off if the crowd commits enough money.
The auction starts at 6pm, with meals and bar facilities available. The list of businesses that have generously donated auction items and experiences include:
- Teys Australia
- Betta Electrical
- SE Tyre & Wheel Alignment
- Malone Family Wines
- Naracoorte Health & Fitness
- Naracoorte Chiropractic Clinic
- Gericke Bulk Handling
- Shane Mobbs Lawrence & Hansen
- Naracoorte Hotel
- Sinclair Electrical Solutions
- Patrick of Coonawarra
- Naracoorte Tyrepower
- Your Podiatrist
- Uneed Hire & Sales
- The Eighth Letter
The family also has Port Power signed merchandise, donated by a cousin, and AFL MCG game and dining packages, donated by a family friend.
Local families have also donated lamb, and loads of wood. Guests will also have the opportunity to buy an all-inclusive day of water skiing fun.
The family has raised $8000 so far for Fight MND, but is hoping that will get a big boost this Saturday night.
In addition to the auction, members of the Jones/Ross family – Robert, Belinda, Virginia, Isabel and Bailey – will be competing in a ‘Run Melbourne’ fun run on July 29.
Businesses and individuals who are interested in donating to the auction can contact Robert Jones on 0408 693 276.
